ABOUT US

The Islamic Center of Frankfort (ICF) was established in 1998, creating a welcoming space for all Muslims. With our community expanding, we have purchased a lot to build Frankfort's inaugural purpose-built Masjid. To finance the construction costs estimated at $2.3 million, we are reaching out for your generous support.

THE COMMUNITY AND ITS HISTORY

Frankfort, the capital city of Kentucky, may be small, but it is home to an estimated 40 Muslim families. In 2002, our community bought and renovated a dilapidated meat processing facility to set up the Masjid. It now serves around 70 families, including those from neighboring towns. Unfortunately, the existing structure is too aged for further renovations and lacks clean, functional bathroom and wudu facilities. Moreover, the current small premises, with only 13 parking spaces, fall short of meeting the growing needs of our community.

OUR COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENTS

The Islamic Center of Frankfort (ICF) is distinguished as the Muslim voice in the capital, leading and participating in key Muslim and interfaith activities across Kentucky. Actively involved in social and charitable work, the ICF regularly garners media attention for its contributions, underscoring the vital role of Muslims in fostering community and understanding.

The Islamic Center of Frankfort offers a variety of activities, including:

• Daily and Jumaa Prayers

• Halaqa (study circles)

• Community Dinners

• Tarawih and Community Iftars

• Interfaith Programs

LAND PURCHASE & PLAN APPROVAL

In 2022, we purchased a 2.5-acre lot at 160 Flynn Avenue, ideally zoned and centrally located along a major highway in Frankfort. Following the successful completion of the site plan and the securing of the land development permit, we chose McCoy Architects LLC as our architect and BMI Builds as the contractor. Alhamdulillah, we celebrated the groundbreaking in February 2024, marking the commencement of the construction.

NEW BUILDING LAYOUT

Our vision encompasses a two-floor, 8,300 square foot facility, including a basement and first floor. The Masjid will feature a prayer area with a capacity for 200 people, alongside a library and an office. The basement is designed to house a storage area, kitchen, and community gathering space. Additionally, the new site will provide over 100 parking spaces, a grassy play area, and a picnic shelter, catering to children and various activities.

Alhamdulillah, we have raised $1.2M towards our $2.3M goal for this noble construction project. We are earnestly working to collect the remaining funds to ensure its completion by the summer of 2025. We warmly invite everyone passionate about building a house for Allah to contribute to this meaningful cause.

Remember the words of the Prophet (PBUH):

"Whoever builds a Masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Please support our endeavor by donating generously. May Allah reward your kindness with a place in Jannah, inshallah.
